Focal Point Australia – Half day Introductory Workshop
The Australian Focal Point offers half day Introductory Workshops to all those that are interested in learning about the GRI.
The workshop will provide participants with a basic introduction to GRI and the G3 framework. It will explore current trends in reporting and demonstrate the role of GRI in assisting organizations to manage and report on their social, economic and environmental impacts.
What are the learning outcomes?
Upon completion of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Recognise the trends in and drivers for sustainability in organisations
- Provide reasons why organisations of all types and sizes are preparing sustainability reports
- Explain what GRI is and how it can help your organisation
- Identify the main characteristics of the GRI framework for reporting
- Identify the five phases of the reporting process
- Understand the activities to be done under each phase
- Prepare a realistic time line for covering the major activities necessary to complete a GRI report

This workshop is for report writers, readers and those involved in the reporting process that would benefit from a general introduction to GRI and the G3 reporting framework.

GRI’s Two Day Certified Training Program
To gain a more in depth understanding of GRI and how to report against the GRI Guidelines GRI has also three certified Australian trainers who offer two day intensive workshops.
What are the learning objectives?
It is minimum a 16 hour program covering the following learning objectives:
Part 1: Conceptual introduction and preparation of a GRI reporting process
Part 2: Dialogue with stakeholders and credibility of the reporting process
Part 3: Defining the content of the report and monitoring
Part 4: Preparing final reporting and communicating
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is for report makers such as consultants, business managers, SMEs managers, NGO managers and other professionals in charge of the implementation of the GRI reporting process as well as report users such as NGOs, financial analysts, government officials, company boards and media.
